Common questions
How much does Roundside cost?
Following a round is always free. Each Apple Account gets one free shared round; after that, sharing a round needs a Roundside Plus subscription at $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year. Apple bills the subscription and shows the exact price before you buy. Tracking a round on your own iPhone stays available without sharing it.
What do I need to run it?
An iPhone on iOS 18.4 or later. An Apple Watch on watchOS 10 or later works as a companion for scores and hole advance, but the Watch is not required.
Where is Roundside available?
The app is available in the United States only, for now.
Is there an Android app?
No Android golfer app yet. Anyone, including people on Android, can follow a shared round in a web browser.
How does hole detection work at my course?
On courses marked for automatic detection Roundside works out each hole itself. On manual courses you tap Next hole as you play, and Correct hole fixes a mistake; followers see the same progress either way. You pick from the courses offered in the app; if yours is missing, email [email protected].
Who can see my location?
Anyone with your share link can see your hole progress and estimated finish, and progress alone can show roughly where you are on the course. Sharing your exact location point is optional per round, off by default, and never a route. You can stop sharing at any time; the link also expires by itself, no later than 12 hours after the round starts.
What happens if I lose signal?
Updates pause until you are back in coverage. Followers see the last estimate with a note saying how old it is; nothing is made up in between, and losing signal never finishes a round.
